Boris Johnson is set to resign as Prime Minister today (7th July 2022) following further ministerial resignations this morning.
Yesterday saw over 50 government ministers quit government including Salisbury's MP John Glen who resigned from his role as Economic Secretary to the Treasury.
Boris Johnson plans to serve as prime minister until the autumn when a new Conservative leader can be chosen.
Some Tory MPs are calling for Johnson to stand down immediately.
It is expected that the prime minister will make a statement to the country today.
