Salisbury head into their second home fixture in four days as Bath City make the short trip down the A36 to the Ray Mac this evening (19th August).
Brian Dutton's side come into the match with their unbeaten start to the season intact following a second consecutive goalless draw to start the season.
Don't let the lack of goals fool you into thinking that it's been a dull start to the season; both the games away at Hampton & Richmond Borough and most recently at home to Dagenham & Redbridge have had plenty of entertainment, and the Whites have shown plenty of promise.
Nearly 1300 enjoyed an entertaining game on Saturday between Salisbury and Dagenham - though neither side was able to break the deadlock, both played good football and created chances. Defences stood firm, however, and the game ended all square.
Brian Dutton was once again pleased by what he saw:
Bath City have picked up one point from their two games so far. They grabbed a late equaliser in added time away against 10-man Worthing on the opening day of the season.
On Saturday, they fell to a 2-1 home defeat against Dover Athletic. Goalless at the break, Dover then took control of the game in the first 20 minutes of the half, with goals from Ruben Soares-Junior and Francis Mampolo.
Alex Fisher grabbed a goal back in the 80th minute, and despite dominating possession for long spells, were unable to find an equaliser before the final whistle.
Bath City manager Darren Way said it was one of the most frustrating games since joining the club:
The Romans won all three fixtures between the two sides last season, by a single goal on each occasion, separating the sides on every occasion, with all of the games being fairly evenly balanced.
Tuesday night’s contest will be the first under the lights and promises to be another exciting match as Salisbury’s new era continues.
