The A36 is currently closed between the A338 Salisbury and A27 following a collision which happened in the early hours of this morning (6th July 2022).
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said, "We were called to the collision at approximately 3.30am this morning.
"A man has suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital in Southampton.
"The road closure is likely to be in place for several hours. Drivers are urged to follow the diversions."
It is expected that the A36 will remain closed in both directions between the A338 and the A27 for the rest of today.

Those texting the Salisbury Radio eyewitness travel line said that Downton was "gridlocked" and Farley and Winterslow Road were also blocked.
