A new Lidl store is due to open in the city next week.
A sign on the Churchill Way West construction site says the new store will open on Thursday February 26th.
It comes as Wiltshire Council approved further plans for the building of a new Tesco Express store near St Peters' Primary Academy.
Work started on the former Smyths Toys and Homesense site at Churchill Way West Retail Park after planning permission was granted in July last year.
Although objections were raised regarding traffic and the loss of existing shops, planning permission was approved by Wiltshire Council to convert the units and amend the car park layout. 117 objections and 19 letters of support during the four-month consultation.
Opponents said Salisbury does not need another discount supermarket and argued the scheme would create more traffic in the St Paul's area.
This is the second Lidl in the city; the existing branch being on Hatches Lane.
