Inspiring evening with Salisbury-based Everest Summiteer Jo Bradshaw, with screening of documentary film More Than A Mountain.
More Information (Salisbury Radio is not responsible for external websites)
The documentary film More Than A Mountain follows 15 women of
all ages and abilities on an expedition led by Jo to Nepal’s Yala Peak.
The expedition is in tribute to Junko Tabei, the first female Everest
summiteer. Moving, uplifting and funny, More Than A Mountain
premiered at Kendal Film Festival less than a year ago and is not yet
on general release – so this is a rare opportunity to see it on your
doorstep.
Jo will be talking not just about mountaineering, but what set her on
the path to adventure in the first place. The evening focuses on self-
confidence and resilience, and it’s an inspirational evening for all –
whether you’re a keen adventurer, or view adventure as something
for older/younger/other people!
Listening to Jo may not make you rush out to grab crampons and ice-
axes, but it may make you wonder what you’re capable of. You may
not automatically say ‘no’ next time there’s an opportunity to do something that lies outside your comfort zone.
The event will raise funds for Children’s Mental Health charity
Place2Be, and support Fred, a Salisbury Explorer Scout, on his journey
to the World Scout Jamboree in Poland 2027.
It is
open all teens and adults; there is no requirement to be involved in
Scouting.
