Centrepiece are an experienced vocal-led jazz quartet, playing a mixture of classic standards and pop gems in the South West and beyond since 2023. The quartet consists of Cathy Tornbohm (vocals and keyboards), Simon Sheffield (guitars), Tom Bromley (double bass) and Alex Mundy (drums).
The focus of the band is on songs from the Great American Songbook, working through bebop and post-bop to Burt Bacharach and seventies pop classics. Artists covered include Anita O’Day, Blossom Dearie, Duke Ellington, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck and Meredith Wilson.
